TREES FOR SCHOOLS
In partnership with the Shropshire & Montgomery branch of the International Tree Foundation (ITF) K A LINCOLN > INVESTMENTS sponsors tree plantings in junior and primary schools in Shropshire.
We do this because we wish to promote a strong awareness of the importance of trees and the natural environment to life on Earth among young children in the hope that they will grow up to love and respect the natural world.

Planting always takes place in the ‘growing season’ which lasts from late October to the end of February.
Each tree planting session usually involves about 30 children who assisted by teachers, parents, ITF volunteers and the directors of K A LINCOLN > INVESTMENTS will plant about thirty to thirty five trees in school grounds. .
Before the planting begins John Tuer, the branch planting co-ordinator and a former deputy head teacher, gives the children a short lesson on how to plant and look after a tree. Then the business of planting commences with
one adult supervising one or more children to plant their individual trees. We usually plant about 30 - 35 trees per session so that each child is made responsible for their own tree. In this way the children are more motivated to care for their ‘own’ tree – especially in the important early years.
When the planting is finished the trees are name tagged and the children return to their classroom to receive their certificates from Kim and Elizabeth Lincoln of K A LINCOLN > INVESTMENTS. Eachchild gets a certificate with their own name on it to celebrate the child’s achievement in successfully planting their own tree.
A plaque is also presented to the school by the company to commemorate the occasion.
